Front of cinema at night. Sweetie counter Top corridor About the Pavilion The Pavilion is a family run, independent cinema in the centre of Galashiels. We have four screens and show a wide range of movies to suit every taste.We run matinee performances every Saturday Sunday and Bank Holiday, and also every time the local Schoolchildren are off for an in-service day or a local holiday. Midweek and when the Schools are in we show two performances in each screen every day. In order to offer all our customers the best possible cinema experience, we plan to invest heavily in the building's facilities in 2011 by installing three new digital projectors, making the Pavilion a digital only cinema! We currently use traditional 35mm film technology in all four screens. Tried and trusted, this is the same process the entire world has used since 1898 when cinema was born. However, we also have a digital projector in screen two, which we use to increase the range of screened entertainment, including normal films, 3D films, live and recorded Opera, Ballet and Theatre broadcasts.
