Providing a safer return to the Big Screen experience

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the cinema and we’ve been working hard to ensure that is as safe as possible. The Coronavirus has impacted life for everyone, but we are determined to create a safe, enjoyable environment for our customers to return watching films on the big screen. It might not quite be ‘the same’ but we’ll do our very best to make it a great cinema experience.

Some of the changes we’ve made are detailed below.  This page was updated on 27th December 2021 to reflect the current Scottish Government Guidance for Cinemas.

Government Guidelines require persons aged 12 and over to wear a face covering when entering the building, moving around and then leaving at the end of the film. You may take your face covering off in order to consume food. So, eating and drinking isn’t a problem while you’re watching a film. Please remember that not all disabilities are visible and some people may not be able to wear face coverings. Please be kind and courteous to other customers.

In line with Government Regulations, 1m distancing is now required in the cinema, including in the auditorium.

When you book online or when you purchase tickets in the cinema, you may choose where you wish to sit in the auditorium when you get to the cinema. We ask that you leave a TWO SEAT GAP between your group and the next group of customers sitting next to you. This ensures we comply with the 1m distancing rule. There is already a 1m distance between you and the next person sitting in front and behind you, even when all rows are in use.

Please pay with contactless when possible, but we do also accept cash. Our staff members will be required to wash their hands or use sanitiser after every cash transaction, so please accept our apologies if the queue doesn’t move quite as quickly as usual.

We’re staggering our film times to ensure we have plenty time to thoroughly clean cinema halls between shows.

Hand sanitiser points are placed throughout the building.

All common touch points; door handles, hand rails etc, will be cleaned regularly throughout the day. Toilets will be cleaned at the start of the day, after each film has gone in and after each film has come out, and checked regularly throughout the day.

All our staff have completed a Coronavirus Awareness Online Safety Course run by the Cinema Industry’s training partner, ScreenSkills. And all staff have been provided with on site training in our specific cinema environment.

We’ve placed safety screens at the Tickets & Concessions counter.

Following the recent announcement from the Scottish Government, 1m social distancing is now required throughout the cinema. Signage has been updated asking customers to observe social distancing in the queueing system. For social distancing in the auditorium, please see “Cinema Seating” section above.
