In 2020 the Pavilion building is 100 years old!
Help us celebrate this milestone by sharing your earliest memories with us. We’d love to hear about your trips, or your parents or grandparents trips to the Pavilion over the years. Maybe you had your first date at the Pavilion, maybe you met your future wife or husband, and now you take your grandchildren to the same cinema. Maybe you were a staff member and recall stories of your days in your first job. Whatever your story is, we want to hear it.
This is your cinema, and these are your memories and we’d love to be able to showcase these memories for all our customers to see when they visit the Pavilion later this year. We plan to create a “Memories Wall” to feature these stories.
The building has had a few names over the years; it started out as the Playhouse in 1920, then it changed to the Capital, then the Kingsway and for the past 27 years has been known as the Pavilion. And we know, it’s a bit confusing as there used to be a “Pavilion” on Channel street. Please note that although I’m sure many of our current customers were previously customers of the old Pavilion, we’re looking for memories specifically relating to this current building.
